Montage is looking for a seasoned Director, Community Engagement to join our growing team. Qualified candidates will have the knowledge, experience and attitude needed to effectively engage and establish strong working relationships with communities, special interest organizations, faith-based organizations, and/or diverse organizations.
About the Role
The Director, Community Engagement will work with a team of Community Engagement personnel who support and serve diverse populations nationwide on behalf of our clients. Your efforts will center around overseeing the activity of the team in establishing and building relationships nationwide with community-based, faith-based, ethnic minority, lifestyle, and advocacy organizations as well as other groups with deep influence in local communities. The purpose of these outreach efforts is to provide awareness, education and recruitment for a specific health-related initiative. Serving our key clients, the Director, Community Engagement bridges the requirements of the client program with local communities nationwide. This is a full-time, exempt position working at Montage’s McLean, VA office.
Requirements
- Minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of experience in community-based engagement work at the local, state, and/or national level. Health or education focus desired.
- Knowledge and expertise working with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and strategically problem solve, develop creative solutions, lead different projects, and work under pressure
- Ability to manage and mentor a team of at least 5 employees
- Cross-departmental work experience with operational teams
- Competence in results measurement, analysis and translation to optimized strategies
- Knowledge and expertise in articulating and implementing community engagement strategies in digital and non-digital formats.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Experience utilizing digital tools such as CRM tools, social platforms, project management software.
- Focus on results and attention to detail.
- Strong experience in customer relationship development and management
Responsibilities
- Directs, oversees, and manages the team assignments
- Is the spokesperson on behalf of the team to the customer
- Leads the development of concepts, content, strategic plans, campaigns and other communication elements. Interfaces with clients for proposals and meetings.
- Collaborates with team to assess the performance of the strategies and provide guidance to optimize results
- Identify and facilitate key connections within stakeholders and partners to move the strategies and the work forward
- Develop consistent rhythm of communication to build relationship with team, client and partners
- Is knowledgeable of current program events and translates necessary information to team and team actions
- Monitor, track, and drive agreed ROI.
- Work across a collaborative engagement team, strategy team, and communications team to identify best practices.
- Organizes and runs a weekly project meeting to review the status of assigned projects with team and client
- Support the planning and development of project documents inclusive of SOWs, budgets, resources allocations.
- Develop and implement processes, resources, and tools to support the work
